The Financial Comptroller, Mr Larry Ramoutar, is a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago.
He attended Presentation College, San Fernando, Trinidad, and Regina Mundi College in London, Ontario, Canada and then Mc Master University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography in 1984.
Mr Ramoutar later attended Emile Woolf College in London, England and completed the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) final examination in 1986. In 1988 Mr Ramoutar obtained an MSc Degree in Trade and Finance from City University in London, England. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr Ramoutar has over eighteen years of experience in accountancy and finance, eight of which were in public accountancy. He was the Senior Investment Analyst with the Divestment Secretariat in Trinidad and the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary for a €70 million EDF funded project. His experience includes: financial management, company valuations, auditing, operational planning and treasury management and he has worked in England, the Bahamas, Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago.
Mr Ramoutar has lectured on a part-time basis on the following ACCA courses: Advanced Financial Management, Financial Accounting and Level 1 Accounting. Mr Ramoutar has also lectured to Grant Thornton International (North America) on investment opportunities in the Bahamas as well as business planning to potential and actual business operators in the Bahamas.
Mr Ramoutar was appointed as Financial Comptroller to the Caribbean Court of Justice on 3 January 2005. |
